Continued efforts for a better future of the local population
School Supply
On 27th December 2022, we organised a donation event for school supplies for local young people. Our goal was to provide at least 100 children with parcels full of essential items so they could attend school.

We were blown away by your support, and surpassed our target, meaning we could support 150 children!
​
This year we are aiming to help 350 students. A donation of just $16 will help one child get the supplies they need.

Food Package Donations
This year, we have held three food donation events with the help of our volunteers from around the world.
​
So far, we have helped 75 families by providing them with packages that include rice and other meal staples. As we have recently experienced significant floods, as well as the ongoing economic crisis, this came as some much-needed financial relief.

Sinhalese New Year celebration
The Savi Jaya Foundation was able to host some traditional new year games in the Garden for the first time since the pandemic. We invited families from the local area as well as volunteers and tourists from all over the world. It was a great afternoon. We made sure every winner of a game got a prize, for example towel, tooth paste, bed sheets etc. and of course some treats too. This event reminded us that helping people to forget their problems, even if only for a little while, isn’t about a lot of money, but about bringing people together and spending time and energy to share each other's cultural traditions.
